  1. Who We Are Rentu is a peer-to-peer rental platform that connects people who need things with people who have them. Whether you are borrowing a bike or renting out your drill, we are here to make it simple, secure, and sustainable.

  2. Using Rentu To use Rentu, you must:

Be at least 18 years old

Provide accurate, up-to-date information when creating an account

Keep your account details secure and let us know if something seems suspicious

Use the platform for lawful purposes only. No shady business

  1. Listings and Rentals As a renter or lister, you agree to:

Only list items you own or are authorised to rent out

Describe items honestly and accurately

Treat all items with care and return them on time

Resolve any disputes respectfully

Rentu reserves the right to remove listings or suspend accounts that do not follow the rules.

  1. Payments and Fees Payments are handled securely by our third-party processor. Rentu may take a small service fee to help keep the platform running. This will be shown clearly before any transaction. If you are earning money by renting out items, it is your responsibility to report any income in line with your local tax laws.

  2. Cancellations and Refunds Life happens and we understand. If you need to cancel a rental, please do so as early as possible. Refund policies may vary based on timing and the agreement between users. Rentu may step in to help resolve any issues if needed.

  3. Our Role Rentu is a facilitator. We connect people but do not own or inspect items listed on the platform. We are not responsible for any damage, loss, injury, illness, or disputes that arise between users. We are here to support you if something goes wrong, but renters use items at their own risk.

  4. Respect and Responsibility Be kind. Do not spam, scam, or harass anyone. Treat people and their belongings with respect. We reserve the right to suspend or ban accounts that break this simple golden rule.

  5. Changes to These Terms We may update these Terms from time to time. If anything significant changes, we will give you a heads-up. Continuing to use Rentu means you agree to the updated terms.

Liability Disclaimer and Insurance Notice

  1. Use at Your Own Risk Rentu is a platform that connects people who want to rent things with those who have things to rent. We do not own, inspect, or endorse the items listed on the platform. By using Rentu, you agree that you are renting or lending items at your own risk.

We are not responsible for:

Damage to any item during a rental

Injury, illness, or accidents resulting from item use

Loss, theft, or misuse of rented items

Financial loss due to cancellations, damage, or miscommunication between users

  1. No Insurance Coverage (Yet) At this time, Rentu does not provide insurance for rented items, renters, or lenders. We strongly recommend that:

Lenders check their personal insurance policies to see if rentals are covered

Renters inspect items before use and use them responsibly

Both parties communicate clearly and document the item’s condition before and after each rental

We are working toward partnerships to offer optional insurance in the future.

  1. Disputes and Damage If something is damaged, lost, or does not go to plan, we encourage users to resolve it respectfully and directly.

Additional Terms

  1. Prohibited Items and Activities You must not list or rent out:

Illegal, stolen, or counterfeit items

Items that require special licenses or qualifications to use, unless the renter provides proof

Items that pose a significant safety risk without proper instruction or training

Rentu reserves the right to remove listings or take action against users who breach this policy.

  1. Identity Verification and Reviews We may require identity verification for certain rentals or at our discretion. After each rental, users are encouraged to leave honest, respectful reviews. Reviews help build trust within the community and must not be used to harass or mislead others.

  2. Account Suspension and Termination We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose a risk to the community. This may be done without prior notice in serious cases.

  3. Intellectual Property All content on Rentu, including logos, branding, and design, is owned by or licensed to Rentu and must not be copied, modified, or used without our permission.

  4. Technical Issues and Availability We strive to keep Rentu running smoothly, but we cannot guarantee that the platform will always be available or error-free. We are not liable for any interruptions or data loss due to technical issues.
